Oktoberfest

What started as a festival celebrating a royal wedding in 1810 quickly became the world famous Oktoberfest. This two-week Bavarian holiday period ends on the first Sunday in October, and thousands of people from all over the world travel to celebrate with music, food, and beer. The changing of seasons from Summer to Autumn decorate the park with fall colors, and this year’s harvest of grain extends between overfilled mugs of ale. Enjoy a freshly baked brezel or bratwurst over the fire, and willkommen to this festival of plenty. Although Oktoberfest started before Bavaria was part of Germany, it is now a state in Southeast Germany.
